post z ogródka (blog entry from my garden)

W maju u mnie bardzo pracowicie. Spędzamy dużo czasu w ogródku. Posadziłam już większość warzyw. Czekają jeszcze pomidory - na cieplejsze dni. A ogródek wygląda trochę inaczej. Nie zamieściłam jeszcze zdjęć, bo jeszcze nie wszystko gotowe.

In May I`ve been very busy. We spend a lot of time in our garden. I`ve already planted most of the vegetables. I`m still waiting with the tomatoes as the weather is a bit cold. The garden looks differently this year. I haven`t enclosed any photos of it yet since not everything is ready.

Jedno sie nie zmieniło: Michałek jak zawsze chętny do pomocy:-)

But one thing hasn`t changed at all: Mike is still very eager to help.

I Komunia Swięta Marie( Marie`s First Communion)

W zeszły poniedziałek o tej porze jeszcze byliśmy w Niemczech i zajadaliśmy się komunijnym ciastem. Moja chrześniaczka i kuzynka zarazem Marie-Luisa 15 kwietnia przyjęła sakrament I Komunii i oczywiście nie mogło mnie tam nie być. Chociaż podróż była długa (jechaliśmy 11 godzin) udało nam się dotrzeć na czas i spędzić cały weekend z moją rodziną w Dortmundzie. Marie w swojej białej sukience i super lokach wyglądała prześlicznie.

At this time last Monday we were in Germany at my uncle`s home relishing the taste of the delicious cakes. My goddaughter and cousin at the same time received her First Communion and of course I couldn`t be anywhere else. Our journey was very long and tiring (11 hours by car). However, we succeeded  in getting there in time and we spent a lovely weekend together with my family in Dortmund. Marie in her beautiful white dress and head full of blond curls looked adorable.

 

Z tej okazji wyszyłam dla niej na pamiątkę obraz, którego zdjęcia poniżej. Mam nadzieję, że się podoba i zawsze będzie przypominał jej o tym wydarzeniu.

Especially for her, I cross-stitched a picture, the photos of which you can see below. I hope it will appeal to her and that it will remind her of that special event in her life.

 

nareszcie wiosna (finally it`s spring)

W moim domu zawitała wiosna. Mimo wielu obowiązków i wiecznego braku czasu udało mi się posadzić nasiona warzyw i ziół. Na parapecie mam bazylię i tymianek, ... i chyba łatwiej napisać czego nie mam. Wykupiłam wszystko co było w sprzedaży. Już nie mogę się doczekać, kiedy zabiorę się za mój ogródek warzywny. W tym roku mam plany wprowadzić trochę zmian. Ogródek czeka na cieplejsze dni  ale ja nie tracę czasu i ostatnio zrobiłam kwiatki z bibuły na wystawę wiosenno-świąteczną. Jako mama przedszkolaka zawsze jestem chętna do pomocy.
 Spring came into my house. Despite many duties and constant lack of time I succeeded in sowing herbs and vegetables. I`ve got many of them on my window sill: basil, thyme... actually it would be easier to mention what I do not have. I have bought everything what they offered in the shops:-) I can`t wait when I will set down to work in my vegetable garden. This year I`m planning to make some changes. So my garden is waiting for some warmer days. Anyway,  I`m not wasting my time and I recently I `ve made some tissue paper flowers for the exhibition of the spring and Easter decorations. As a mum of a kindergarten child I am always eager to help.

Gdy za oknem mróz... (when it`s frosty outside...)

 Można się było tego po zimie spodziewać, ale ten mróz przez dwa tygodnie bez przerwy to przesada. Nie jestem w stanie normalnie funkcjonować. Na szczęście mam jeszcze ferie, które spędziłam robótkowo. Dwa szaliki na drutach: dla mnie i dla Michała. Zamówiłam też pudełko z internetowego sklepu Haftix, żeby wreszcie uporządkować swoje muliny. 

One should have expected the wheather like this when it`s wintertime but I`ve got enough of this freezing cold outside. Two weeks of -15 C  without a break is far too much! I cannot function well. Luckily I`ve got winterbreak for two weeks so I spend my time on craftswork. The outcome is: two knitted scarves: one for Michael and one for me.I`ve also ordered a plastic box with floss bobbins for my threads. You can find the shop here. Now I can finally order my cross stitching stuff.

W czasie ferii odwiedziliśmy też maleńką Olę i jej rodziców. Moja mama zrobiłam na drutach sweterek, czapeczkę i buciki, a ja metryczkę haftem krzyżykowym.

During my winterbreak we paid a visit to little Ola and her parents. My mum knitted a cardigan, a hat and a pair of shoes for her. I prepared a cross-stitched picture.

trochę tu, trochę tam (a little bit of this, a little bit of that)

To były bardzo owocne Święta. Udało mi się wykonać dwa obrazki chociaż drugi wymaga jeszcze wykończenia czarną nitką.... I tak oto znowu uzależniłam się od krzyżyków.

It was a very fruitful Christmas. I managed to finish two projects although the second one still requires the finishing black line..... And in this way I have become addicted to cross stitching again.

jaki ojciec, taki syn (like father, like son)

Święta już dawno za nami. Ale za oknem dopiero teraz prawdziwa zima. Wczoraj Michał dostał od taty prawdziwe narty biegowe i dzisiaj od rana nas męczył, żeby je wreszcie wypróbować. Więc nie było wyjścia i musieliśmy spędzić godzinę w warunkach trudnych:-) Wiał wiatr i sypało śniegiem w oczy. Ale to nic, Michał był w siódmym niebie. Za chwilę znowu idą. No tak - jaki ojciec, taki syn.

Christmas is just a memory. But when I look through the window  only now it is the real winter outside. Yesterday Michael got a pair of real cross country skis from my husband and since the early morning he was begging us to have a try. So there was no other choice than to take him outside. we spent an hour on the path near our home in very harsh conditions:-) The blowing wind and snow in the eyes. But it seemed to be nothing for Michael. He was on cloud nine. Like father, like son.

 

Jest śnieg, będą Święta (there`s snow, Christmas`s coming)

W tym roku nadeszły jakoś szybciej. Nawet nie zdążyłam upiec ciasteczek. Dekoracji też w domu nie widać na każdym kroku. Ale wcale mnie to nie martwi. Cieszę się, bo wiem, że jutro spełnię marzenia mojego synka. Dzięki niemu Święta są znowu tak magiczne jak wtedy kiedy ja sama byłam dzieckiem.
Ja już swój prezent dostałam. W środę mój Michał miał pierwszy poważny jasełkowy występ na przedszkolnej wigilijce.  Dla takich chwil warto żyć. Kocham być mamą. 



This year it came so quickly. I even didn`t manage  to bake the Christmas cookies. There are no splendid decorations in every corner of my home as well. But it doesn`t bother me at all. I`m happy as I know that tomorrow I can help to make my son`s dreams come true. Thanks to him every Christmas is so magical again, like the ones  when I was a child.
I have already received my present. On Wednesday Michael had his first serious performance at the Christmas play for the parents in the kindergarten. It`s worth living for such a moment. I love being a mum.
